Function / Content

This series consists of diagrams and maps with the baseline data used in the preparation of pastoral maps for the Northern Territory. Each diagram or map includes the following information: name of pastoral leases, pastoral/permit number, application number, mineral claims number, size of lease, location of lease and surrounding block numbers with some having the location of water resources and references to other folios. Some of the diagrams and maps have many details while others are hand drawn with just the size of claim, number, name and compass direction of north or south. Each page has a number of diagrams or maps pasted onto them with each having its own scale written, in miles to an inch, mainly 8 miles to an inch.
